COMMUNITY EDUCATION WORKSHOPS
FOR SURVIVORS AND THEIR FAMILIES

What are the community education workshops?

In place for more than 15 years, the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Traumatic Brain Injury Model System of Care (TBI MS) has excellent resources to meet the needs of survivors in the hospital. Yet, survivors and family members often face long-term difficulties long after leaving the hospital.

The community education workshops were developed in an effort to meet the  needs of survivors and family members as they struggle with post-injury challenges.  The "Getting Better and Better after Brain Injury" workshops offer practical information, ideas, and suggestions presented by experienced rehabilitation professionals from the VCU Medical Center.  Attendees are encouraged to participate by asking questions and discussing physical or emotional recovery concerns.
